The faculty has elected Professor Sir George Elochukwu Onwudiwe as the new dean of the faculty. He is a professor and Lecturer in the Department of Igbo, African and Communication Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. His area of specialization is Phonetics and Phonology, and has carried out his major research in Sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics and Igbo phonology. His research interest is in Dialectoloy, Igbo Syntax and Ethnolinguistics. He has published many books and book chapters, as well as over twenty five articles in reputable Journals.
